Creating gingerbread houses on Christmas day is a 15 year-old tradition for the Van Essen Family, and this year marks the first year going online.
Teams of two or three must create a theme, and construct that theme using items that are entirely edible. There are standard supplies provided (ie: graham crackers, frosting, tootsie rolls, etc.) and each team also gets $6 to spend on specialized items. The competition is fierce. Teams sit at the same table, where the trash talk flows freely.

WOW! I loved this gingerbread house! I especially liked the detail in the wave, the white-water and the detail on the people in the sand! Awesome job!
